Derbyshire v Gloucestershire
Derbyshire beat Gloucestershire by 9 wickets. The visitors were dismissed for 222 in their first innings led by Graeme van Buuren’s 67, made from 109 balls with ten boundaries. Derbyshire’s Luis Reece spearheaded the attack, taking 6 for 52 from 20.4 overs. Derbyshire responded with 391 all out, led by a century, 118, by the captain, Wayne Madsen – his innings took 166 balls. He hit 14 fours and a six. He was supported by half-centuries by Harry Came, 83, and 61 apiece by Caleb Jewell and Zak Chappell.
Leading by 169 runs from the first innings, Derbyshire dismissed Gloucestershire for 259 in their second innings. Ben Charlesworth’s 191 ball vigil for 110 contained 18 fours. Reece led the bowling figures with 4 for 39, but Derbyshire only needed 91 to win. They made 93 for 1 – scored in less than 20 overs. Jewell made his second half-century – an unbeaten 51.
Glamorgan v Leicestershire
Leicestershire beat Glamorgan by 10 wickets. Glamorgan made 229 all out, led by a half-century by their wicketkeeper, Chris Cooke. His 55 came from 102 balls. Ian Holland took 3 for 40 and Ben Mike 3 for 54. Leicestershire responded with 427 all out. There were no centuries, but four batsmen hit half-centuries – Lewis Hill 96: Chris Wright 74, Peter Handscomb 63 and Sol Budinger 56. They led by 198 runs.
Glamorgan made 248 all out in their second innings. Kiran Carlson made 113 from 214 balls. He hit ten fours and a six in his century. The only significant support was Andy Gorvin’s unbeaten 50, leaving Leicestershire a target of 51 – they made 53 without loss led by Budinger’s 32.
Middlesex v Lancashire
This match was drawn. Middlesex batted first at Lord’s. They made 260 all out in their first innings. Sam Robson top-scored with 70 runs from 83 balls. He was supported by Max Holden’s 69 from 115 balls. Tom Aspinwall led Lancashire’s attack with 4 for 32 from 9.2 overs. Lancashire was dismissed for 359. Marcus Harris made 138 from 197 balls with 21 fours. Skipper, Keaton Jennings made 55 from 123 balls. Zafar Gohar took 4 for 79 from 28.3 overs.
Middlesex scored 407 all out in their second innings, led by Holden’s 184 from 335 balls with 20 fours and 2 sixes. Ben Geddes hit 74 from 133 balls with 7 fours. Tom Bailey took 5 for 79 from 26 overs, setting his team a target of 308 to win. Lancashire scored 262 for 8 in their second innings led by a half century, 52 by Harris. Gohar took 3 for 64 but the match ended with honours even.
Northamptonshire v Kent
Kent beat Northamptonshire by 145 runs. Kent made 231 all out in their first innings, led by Tawanda Muyeye’s 72 from 106 balls. Raphy Weatherall led Northamptonshire’s attack with 3 for 32 from 10 overs. Northamptonshire responded with 143 all out led by Rob Keogh’s 64 from 81 balls. Jas Singh took 4 for 35 from 12 overs.
Kent made 171 all out in their second innings, led by Joey Evison’s 52 from 96 balls. Weatherall took 3 for 38 from 10 overs. Northamptonshire capitulated in the second innings – 114 all out. George Bartlett scored an unbeaten 60 from 79 balls with 7 fours and a six. The next highest score was 16 by Saif Zaib. South African, Keith Dudgeon took 7 for 36 from 10.4 overs.
