Rogers Delivers Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aston Villa\u2019s Morgan Rogers cemented his growing reputation \u2013 begun in last month\u2019s 5-0 drubbing of Serbia. Rogers played an important part in two of England\u2019s three goals and hit the crossbar before departing to a standing ovation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMorgan is what he is,\u201d Tuchel told journalists. \u201cHe is a number 10 and he is competing for his place. He is in a good way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bukayo Saka, Rogers and finally Gu\u00e9hi with a faint nod on were involved in England\u2019s second after 11 minutes \u2013 a tap in at the far post by Ollie Watkins to score from close range. The pick of the three goals was undoubtedly the third. A flowing move culminated in Ezri Konsa setting up Saka to unleash a stunning strike from the right of the area into the opposite top corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rice\u2019s freekick after just over half an hour just cleared the crossbar. Gu\u00e9hi was yellow-carded for a foul on Kiefer Moore. Just before half-time Watkins should have made it four, but despite an open goal from Elliott Anderson\u2019s cross, he somehow missed and collided with the post, resulting in him being replaced by Marcus Rashford for the second half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Improvement<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chances were exchanged, but no further goals came. Wales\u2019 second half performance was a marked improvement on the first half. \u201cI wanted this game,\u201d said Welsh manager Craig Bellamy. \u201cI needed to see where we are.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wales got the stiff test that Bellamy was after, despite the absence of England\u2019s record-scorer Harry Kane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe had to suffer a lot of pain,\u201d Bellamy said. \u201cI need to improve. The group need to improve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wales face Belgium on Monday night in a must win match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
