{"id":4488,"date":"2025-09-25T19:29:47","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T18:29:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/empowersmag.com\/empowersmagwp\/?p=4488"},"modified":"2025-09-27T15:44:56","modified_gmt":"2025-09-27T14:44:56","slug":"atlas-lions-win-historic-third-chan-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/empowersmag.com\/empowersmagwp\/2025\/09\/25\/atlas-lions-win-historic-third-chan-title\/","title":{"rendered":"<strong>Atlas Lions Win Historic Third CHAN Title<\/strong>"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>By Satish Sekar \u00a9 Satish Sekar (August 30<sup>th<\/sup> 2025)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Historic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oussama Lamlioui scored a brace, including the winner, to steer the Atlas Lions to their historic third CHAN title in a thrilling 3-3 win over Romuald Rakotondrabe\u2019s Barrea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After 9 minutes Calvin Felicit\u00e9 Manohantsoa&nbsp;gave the underdog Malagasy the lead from distance \u2013 Mika Razafimahatana provided the assist, but the Atlas Lions equalised through Youssef Mehri with nearly half an hour played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Berkane forward, Lamlioui, \u2013 very much part of Tariq Sektioui\u2019s plans, gave Morocco the lead before half time. Toky Rakotondraibe equalised, raising hopes of a famous upset, but with extra time looming Lamlioui it a 40 metres stunner past a helpless \u2018Toldo\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, Lamlioui won the Golden Boot with 6 goals and the Man of the Match award. Mohamed Rabie Hrimat, captain of the Atlas Lions received the CHAN trophy and the Player of the Tournament Award. Despite his heroics for the Barrea, Toldo did not win the Golden Glove, S\u00e9n\u00e9gal\u2019s Marc Diouf did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Atlas Lions made history \u2013 the first nation to win the CHAN thrice.
